nova media offers inexpensive evaluation kits for 3G wireless modules

Berlin, Germany – June 15, 2011 – To test the functions and the behaviour of 3G wirless embedded modules, nova media is offering inexpensive 3G Starter Kits. These kits already include a 3G wirless module by the company Option as well as a mainboard with mini USB connector, a PCIe MiniCard interface and a SIM card holder. Two antennas, a USB cable, documentation and drivers for Windows and Linux complement each kit.

"Small development companies dismiss the relatively high costs of special development boards. "Using our 3G Starter Kits, they can test the Internet, GPS and voice functions of the 3G modules for a low price and contact us for any technical issues."

The Starter Kit is powered by the USB connection to the host computer and does not need an additonal power supply. All 3G and GPS functionality of the miniPCIe modules are controlled by the host computer through the USB port on the mainboard of the 3G Starter Kit.

The 3G module provided with the kit is the GTM 661W from the company Option. The module supports HSPA in the 800-850/900/1900/2100 MHz frequency range, GPRS/EDGE quad band as well as GPS and Voice functionality.

nova media offers two versions of the Starter Kit. A Starter Kit PLAIN without microphone and headphone jacks and a Starter Kit VOICE with microphone and headphone jacks. All the rest of the Starter Kit contents are the same for both versions.

The 3G starter kit PLAIN is available immediately for Euro 160,- plus sales tax.
The 3G starter kit VOICE is available immediately for Euro 180,- plus sales tax.
