Nova media unveils mobile connection manager for Eee PCs running Linux

Berlin, September 2nd -- nova media today unveiled 'launch2net for Linux', a mobile Internet connection manager for Asus Eee PCs running Linux.

launch2net already includes connection settings for most mobile network operators worldwide, eliminating the need to enter cryptic settings like user name, password or APN address. This makes it easy to use a Prepaid SIM card abroad to save high roaming costs.

"launch2net for Linux will display the time and data consumption of the current sessionas well as of a period of time." states jan Fuellemann, PR spokesperson at nova media. "So the customer has a clear overview of the time and data volume spent online. This is important if he is using a tariff based on time or data volume."

In addition, launch2net supports many USB modems from leading manufacturers like Option and HUAWEI, so no extra driver installation is necessary.

launch2net is available online for Euro 25,17 plus VAT on the company`s website http://www.novamedia.de. A demoversion is available online as well. launch2net for Linux requires an Asus Eee PC running a preloaded Linux (Kernel 2.6.21.4-eeepc -5 or -6). A version for Ubuntu is scheduled for October release.
