Make sure you are using Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher
iSync plugins do not work with older versions of Mac OS X systems. Use the Software Update feature in the Apple Menu to update to the latest Mac OS X version. Some cell phones will need Mac OS X 10.5.8 or higher to operate with iSync.
How to update your iSync plugins
iSync plugins will update the list of supported cell phones automatically every time you use the iSync plugins in the system preferences. So there is no need to download and install any new version.
If the application itself is updated, you will be prompted to allow the download and installation of the new program version.

Where do I find the manual:
Open the System preferences > iSync plugins and click on the question mark to open the manual.
How do I uninstall iSync plugins:
1 Open the iSync plugins preference pane
2 Click on the tab labeled About iSync plugins
3 Click Uninstall
4 The uninstaller starts
5 Enter an adminstration password for your computer
6 iSync plugins will now be deleted
If your cell phone is not supported
iSync plugin error messages:
Q: Activation does not work and ends with error message "Activation error: Error reading from the stream"
If you use any third party firewall software or you have activated the parental control on your Mac, then please deactivate temporary. Activate the plugin and then activate the firewall or Parental control again.

Q: iSync can't open because of a problem with a plug-in
If you have installed any "Plugin" other than our plugins, these hacks from the Internet have a very bad effect: If you use such a software on an iSync version it was not designed for, it destroys the iSync application. That is the reason for the error message.
You must install a fresh copy of the iSync application. The easiest way is to copy it from another Mac. Then install our plugins again and everything should work fine.
Q: iSync stops inmidth of a synchronisation
Sometimes there are bluetooth inteference issues, if you are using another Bluetooth device at the same time (e.g. a mouse). If it's the case please quit iSync, switch OFF any other device and try again. If this does not help, then do this:
1. Remove your device from iSync and close iSync completely.
2. Delete the pairing: Open Bluetooth in the System preferences and delete all bluetooth devices you see there.
3. Switch off the phone (batteries out for a few seconds),
4. Quit all other programs (especially the Adress Book), then switch on the phone.
5. Pair again:
Choose "Set up Bluetooth device...", select your mobile and pair the Macintosh and the phone. Click through all dialogs by "Continue".
6. Start iSync, add your device and sync.
If the sync works, then pair your bluetooth mouse and other bluetooth
devices.
iSync and Samsung phones:
Q: Sync of iCal data fails with Samsung D500
The D500 is not able to process any date before the year 2000, so no birthdays before this year are synchronized. Please disable synchronization of birthday calenders for this phone in iSync.
iSync and Nokia phones:
Q: Sync fails or date and times do not match after sync
The most common cause for that is an old firmware on the Nokia. Please be 100% sure you are using the latest firmware on your Nokia. Press *#0000# on the Nokia to display the firmware then call your local Nokia support to see how to update the firmware.

Q: iSync times out when syncing to my cell phone
In some cases we have seen a timeout at the frist sync while using Nokia mobil phones. IN this case, select your cell phone in iSync again. Check if you are asked to either merge data or delete and replace data on your cell phone. Make sure you select "Merge data", then press "Sync Devices" again.
You may have to repeat this step until all data is synchronized. The following synchronizations after these steps will work flawless again.
Q: Nokia does not display all-day-events correctly
Nokia Cell phones use a note to display all-day-events in a standard way. Instead they use a note. This is unknown to iCal and SyncML or the Apple sync agent, so all-day-events will be changed to a 00.00 to 23.59 o´clock event during a synchronisation.
Q: iSync does not work with my Nokia 9300, 9300i oder 9500!
- First, install your SIM card into the phone. Although the Communicator/Smatphone part of your devices seems to be fully operational, the communication is disabled without SIM card and it is impossible to initiate the synchronisation. Make sure sure the SIM card is installed properly, the name of your service provider should appear on the front display!
- Turn OFF the phone and switch it ON again.
- On your Nokia, go to "Tools/Data management/Application manager/Installed software", select "iSync Agent" and choose "Remove". If you do not find it there, proceed with the next step.
- In iSync: click on the Symbol of your Nokia and choose "Devices/Remove Device".
- In iSync choose Devices/Add Device and add you Nokia again.
- Select the appropriate first Sync behaviour (merge or delete data on device) and sync
Q: Will there be a plugin for other Nokia phones like the 6230?
With the update to 10.4.7 and higher and iSync 2.2 and hgher, Apple supports Nokia Series 40 phones already.
iSync and SonyEricsson phones:
Q: Appointments are displaced one or two hours
Sony Ericsson Cell phones do not support automatic timezone adjustments in any calendar schedule. Appointments which are due after the summer/wintertime switch will show the wrong time until the cell phone itself has been set to summer/wintertime accordingly.
The easiest way to solve this is to reset the device in iSync after the time switch and synchronize your data again.

Q: iSync does not work with my cell phone
If you see iSync@ placing a red exclamation mark next to your phone, iSync is broken and has to be reinstalled. This happens most likely if you installed a "Hack" (e.g. "Nokia Communicator iSync Conduit.pkg", "Matcatashrophe") which renders iSync 2.2 useless:

Please download the Apple Comboupdate 10.4.7 from the Apple support-website and run this updater. Then re-install the iSync plugins.
General questions about nova media iSync plugins:
Q: The calendar is for birthdays but only the first two appear, all other calendars sync 100%.
When you click your phone Symbol in iSync, the synchronisation Options appear. There you tell iSync what events to synchronize. For some cell phone, iSync allows "the next week" up to "next 8 weeks". In theses cases, there is no way to synchronize events more than 8 weeks ahead.
